Presentations to businesses without a website

Many businesses are in a rather precarious position when it comes to establishing a web presence. In many cases they do not have the expertise to get what is the most appropriate solution for them. Often they are unsure about even the basics such as domain name registration and are in need of good sensible web advice. Kiswebs present to large groups of these types of businesses on a regular basis.

Usually the presentation / workshop will last about 3 hours and we discuss everything that a business at this stage of their website development are required to know. We talk about the basics like domain name registration, how they go about this and how much they should expect to pay. We discuss website hosting and the various options that are available to them including aspects of hosting such as email accounts and website statistics.

We also discuss the various options they have with regards to getting their website designed, from doing it themselves, utilising DIY packages or products like Macromedia Dreamweaver, through to commissioning a web development business to design and develop their solution.

By the end of the presentation / workshop the delegates have a much better understanding of what they should be doing and what is involved. This in turn saves them from making costly mistakes and also gives them the confidence to speak with professionals within the web design industry without feeling out of place.

Presentations to businesses with established websites

Kiswebs do presentations / workshops with businesses who have been established a while who already have a web presence. The idea of these businesses attending the presentation is to give them a better idea about how their website presence could be bettered and perhaps return better results for them.

In many cases some of the businesses have created the websites themselves and / or have had their web sites for a number of years without making any significant changes to their website. Previously they may have been found through search engine searches but are no longer being found and they are trying to establish why that is the case. If they have had their web site for a number of years there could be many reasons for this including the fact there will be so many more web sites now than then and also the fact that search engines regularly change the way they search for websites of relevance. What worked a few years ago may not work now - infact what worked a few months ago may not work now.

Usability is an area we spend a reasonable amount of time on. Important areas such as; download time, poor Navigation, the amount of text, jargon, cross browser compatibility, are all covered.
